A rich, cozy challah tahini cinnamon roll recipe, perfect for brunch with friends or a relaxed weekend morning. Easier than you think, and a recipe to impress! Sweetened with date syrup.

Ingredients

*Start by making 1 batch of challah dough, recipe linked here

Filling

  • 1 cup medjool dates, soaked in hot water for 20 minutes
  • 1/2 cup Just Date Syrup
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon (we like Royal Cinnamon)

Frosting

  1. Roll out half of challah dough into a flat rectangular shape, about ¼” thick.
  2. Blend soaked and drained dates (discard remainder of liquid), ½ cup Just Date Syrup, and cinnamon in a blender.  Taste the filling. If you love more cinnamon, go for it. You have our blessing!
  3. Spread the filling out onto the rectangle. Roll the dough into a tight log. Start rolling from the short side of the rectangle. Slice the log into even pinwheels.
  4. Bake at 325 for 20-25 minutes until puffy. Whisk frosting ingredients together (these proportions can vary depending on the type of tahini you use. We love Seed+Mill. Add more tahini, date syrup, or cinnamon to your taste! Spread the frosting on warm rolls and ENJOY!
