Date Syrup Baked Brie with Figs

Angie Tran from Crazy Chewy Good created this mouthwatering ode to a honey baked brie but doing it Just Date style! Here's what Angie had to say about this recipe: "I love dates. It's a great sweetener that can be pretty much substituted one for one with white sugar and maple syrup and the perfect way to cure the sweet tooth for those watching their insulin.

What I love about this dish is that it's so easy to whip up and it platters beautifully that your guests will be in awe of you when you place it in front of them. You get that sweet and savory PLUS cheesy flavor all in one."

Ingredients

1 Brie Wheel

4-5 Figs, quartered

2 Tbsp Walnuts, chopped

1 Tbsp Rosemary

3 Tbsp Just Date Syrup

Crackers or Crostini, for serving

Preheat the oven to 375° F.

Place the brie in a cast iron. If you do not have a cast iron, you can place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush the top of the brie with date syrup. (I like that slight caramelization baked into the cheese. This step is optional)

Bake for 10 minutes.

In a small bowl, mix your figs, remaining date syrup, walnuts and rosemary together until your figs are coated with syrup.

Carefully spoon the figs onto the top of the brie and bake for another 5 minutes.

Serve immediately with crackers or crostini and fruit.

Enjoy!
