Spicy Fruit Compote with Whipped Vegan Cheese

Spice up your holiday snack game with this Spicy Fruit Compote and Whipped Cheese combo! Tangy cranberries, diced pear, and a kick from Peepal People's hot sauce make the compote pop, while the vegan whipped feta with Nuts For Cheese adds a creamy balance. Just heat, blend, and voilà! Top it off with a drizzle of Just Date Syrup for that extra sweetness and depth. 

Ingredients

Spicy Fruit Compote

1 cup fresh/frozen cranberries

1 firm pear, peeled, cored and diced

2 tsp Peepal People's Peela Patakha hot sauce

1/4 tsp lemon zest

1 tsp lemon juice

3 tbsp Just Date Syrup

Pinch of salt

 

Whipped Cheese

6 oz Nuts for Cream Cheese Original vegan cream cheese

4 oz Nuts for Cheese Artichoke and Herb cheese

2 tbsp olive oil

Prepare the compote:

Heat cranberries, pears, date syrup, salt over medium heat for 2 minutes, until cranberries start to pop

Now turn the heat down to low, and add 1 tsp lemon juice and 2 tsp Peela Patakha

Stirring occasionally, cook the compote for an additional 7 minutes over low heat, until cranberries are soft and have mostly broken down.

Turn the heat off, and add the remaining 1/2 tsp lemon juice and lemon zest

Prepare whipped cheese:

Add cream cheese, cheese and olive oil to the food processor/blender and blend. Make sure everything is combined and the texture is not overly smooth.

Put it together:

Transfer whipped cheese to a bowl and top with spicy fruit compote, a drizzle of date syrup. Serve with crackers.
